The fell through Green Canyon Trip - The Unplanned trip to Kawah Putih

We was going to Green Canyon on last December but it fall through due to massive flood at Rancaekek so I am so excited on this trip, yeah we are going to Green Canyon. We make intense contact with a local guide about the condition of the water as the rain fall quite heavy and the water could turn into brown instead of green. But it was a bit dissapointed just 2 days before our trip we get information that the water is brown as three days in a row always raining but however we have to go as the down payment has been made.


The journey from Jakarta quite smooth, but there is a huge traffic jam at Bandung area and there is a news that Rancaekek is having flood. Again??? But some drivers said it won't take long but really I doubt it as we have experienced it before. It almost 2 hours before we decide to change route but what a bad day, there is erosion too so we have no other choice.


Eating and playing card is the only things we could do. It is arround 4 am, when we decided to cancel the Greencanyon trip and going somewhere else but suddenly the road is smooth and we continue to Green Canyon but...it is only for about 1 km before it stuck again so the decision is final, cancel the trip and go for Rafting at Siguling, Pagalarang area. For the second time Rancaekek has been dissapointed us.


Some friends are going back after rafting (rafting package 7km for 2 hours about Rp. 150.000/pax) but 9 of us continue the trip to Ciwidey, its knows as Kawah Putih and Situ Patenggang, a lake known of shotting place of Indonesia movie "Hearts". The first plan is to rent a homestay at Ciwidey but it is too late so we spent the night at at friend's house at Bandung.



Imagine, 9 of us on the bus of 25 capacity, it is backpacker with style hahahaha. Everyone has a space to laying down, relaxing while watching movies on a dvd, it is more like home


We are lucky the weather quite nice, the sky is clear eventhough not so blue at least there is no fog so we could enjoy the panorama, it is beautiful and unique.


When arrive at Situ Patenggang, it start rainning so we miss the nice view. We go to Batu Cinta with a small boat after a hard negosition but what pity, the heavy rain is falling in the middle on the journey so we couldn't take picture on that spot. So it is more like cross the river to have coffee and grill corn on this place.


It is still rain so we decide to back to Jakarta, tired but we are really having a great time. Green Canyon, we will come soon, hopefully this time we really meet.
